Of course, a decisive role in the quality of this neat catalogue, that combines numerous options with imaginative flavors, is played by the seasonality of vegetables and the freshness of all raw materials used. Both fish and seafood, apart from the local ones, mainly come from Leros or Kalymnos, whereas the carefully chosen meat, from standardized Macedonian farms. A key secret to all dishes' genuine deliciousness is the chef's obsession to avoid spices. Instead, he follows the recipe of our ancient ancestors and persistently chooses beneficial herbs, collected either from the hotel's garden or from a neighboring vegetable garden. Oregano, lavender, rosemary, fennel, mint and spearmint have a field day, providing an authentic, natural flavor in every meal.

Plefsis Traditional Tavern Greek delicacies by the sea

Square tables with checkered tablecloths are arranged onto the sand, right by the sea. They come along with purple, white, pink and red straw chairs, while reed roof umbrellas with white poles, resembling whitewashed tree trunks, protect them from the sun. Old fashioned feta cheese metallic cans are spread all over the area, serving as parsley and basil pots. Geraniums, olive trees and chrysanthemums are planted in various corners, giving you the impression of dining in a homey courtyard. There is a balcony with a few tables at the center, with a nostalgic, brownish, mosaic floor and colorful flowers at the entrance window sills, from which delicious aromas escape.

The whole setting reminds you of an old Greek movie. Right in front of you, in the small concrete jetty, local fishermen, wearing their traditional caps and light colored shirts, tie their boats and unravel their nets for the next catch. Spiros, Grikos' seagull-mascot, either dives in order to cool off or approaches people in order to pinch a delicacy or two. The loudspeakers softly broadcast authentic Greek music, from Poly Panou and Stratos Dionysiou up to Eleftheria Arvanitaki and Haris Alexiou, while waiters guide you to a showcase where you choose fresh fish for yourself. There is an outdated blackboard presenting «today's special», written with chalk. That moment, when you drink the first sip of iced ouzo, unwittingly flushing your lips from the saltiness of the sea, you realize that there is nothing truer than summer in Greece.

As soon as you give your order, goodies made of Greek, local products start landing on your table. Arki: Arki (ancient Arkitis) is the largest of a group of islands, north of Lipsi. The islanders live of fishing. You have the feeling that Arki is forgotten. Far from tourism, the island is lost is its mystical peace and tranquility. There is only a single village with stone houses, a cafeteria where you will find beach necessities or clothing and two restaurants, which we highly recommend for lunch, offering fresh fish and seafood. Opposite Arki, you can find the island of Marathi, on a fine sandy beach. You can reach it in about 25 minutes, starting from Grikos.

Marathi: There's something about Marathi Island that seems to exude tranquility, a feeling which is almost absorbed through the skin, just as the rays of the sun. Often, there seems to be a problem in the effort of dragging people away from this small, secluded island. It is really tiny: a curved sheltered bay with many small coves, in which you can navigate. The pier divides the bay into two sandy sides with sheltered waters, suitable for swimming. There are also two restaurants which will most definitely satisfy your hunger, offering seafood and fresh fish, literally from the sea to your plate. You can reach it in about 20 minutes, starting from Grikos.

Tiganakia: Perhaps the most popular spot for swimming for those familiar with the area. This is a huge clean pool, where you can simply swim for hours. The color of the sea: crystal-blue and the seabed, sandy. The water is so clean that you can see everything without a marine mask. There is no surface to get off and walk around, but you can simply indulge in incessant diving. You can reach it in about 25 minutes, starting from Grikos.

Additional information: A one-day power boat cruise usually takes place from 10:00 am to 18:00.
The boat can host approximately up to ten (10) people including the crew.
The duration of the journey varies, depending on weather conditions (wind intensity, wind direction etc).

Interested parties may also choose a route of their own preference than those recommended above. There are a number of alternative options, such as a tour to Tragonisi, (the island seen opposite the hotel), a visit to the stone of Kalikatsou (the huge rock that juts out of the water and looks like a sculpture in the sea on the right side of the hotel) or an island tour of Patmos, discovering the coastline of the Island.

Feeling the need to be left alone?

An option to be transferred and dropped off in one of the nearby beaches is available, in order to enjoy additional privacy and soak in nature. The pick-up time for the return is scheduled upon request in coordination with the skipper/driver of the powerboat. Some indicative the beaches are Psili Ammos (5 to 10 minutes), Monastiri (10 to 15 minutes), Prsasovouno (5 to 10 minutes) and Kampanaria (5 to 10 minutes). The estimated time may differ due to different weather conditions.

Playground Recreation in a safe environment

You follow the flowery path right outside of «Theion Sea Bar». On your right, you see the hotel's playground, a place suitable for children, reminding you of a traditional alley. The playground is not visible from most sides of the hotel. The surrounding flowering plants and trees, generously add an element that should not be missing from any childhood: nature. The natural environment, overlooking Grikos bay, is impressive even from this side of the hotel. It gives away that emotional serenity, insouciance and excitement you feel when you first climb into a swing or when you roll over a slide for the first time. Roses, laurel and rosemary are fragrant, while the whitewashed background, irreducibly maintains the traditional character of the hotel.

The main playground equipment, looking like a tree house at the center of the area, consists of a wooden slide and a climbing rope. Right next to the tree house, you find two swings and a little further, three childish seats and plenty of space to be used as a separate playing section. Along the playground, you find scattered toys on the floor and children playing carefree. They enjoy running light -hearted, with no anxiety or fear since the floor, in brick red shades, is made of such materials as to protect the little ones from bruises as they fall. Throughout playing, all children must be supervised by their parents, who are considered responsible for their safety.

When someone finds himself in the hotel's playground, he can understand why it provides an anachronistic entertainment experience for our young guests. Creating a sense of security, the perimeter is enclosed by a white wooden fence. You hear the birds tweeting and sense all these natural aromas: flowers, earth, wood and sea. You cannot but feel like a child, once again.

A wellness labyrinth

Geranium, ginger, violet, rosemary, lavender, chamomile, orange blossom, coriander, lily and ylang - ylang. A plethora of scents raises your interest and inevitably leads you to the inferior level of the hotel. The aroma of essential oil cinnamon and ocean breeze, mysteriously awakens your senses. The element of water is dominant. Τhe decorative pool from the upper level is circularly mirrored in the marble floor right in front of your feet, giving form and shape to the diffusing moving light. Like an invisible projector, it enlightens the reflected water that rhythmically dances on a perfectly round blue platform. A cool sensation of freshness embraces your body from your toes to your face, as you enter the indoor pool area. At the far end of the room, you find a hydro-static pressure mechanism from where water, falls fiercely over the surface of the pool. The absolute silence in the area is only interrupted by the reliable sound of the moving water. A wellness labyrinth unfolds, inviting you to discover it. Blindly, you trust the warming presences of the area, leading you through a delightful path of wellbeing.

Dark, earthy shades which soothe your eyes and mood, preparing you for the state of emotional peace that will follow. The atmosphere is romantic with lanterns, lighted candles on the floor, hidden lighting and gentle music, motivating you to appropriate the looseness of the area by trying some of the various massage techniques or face / body treatments. And then you reach the cabins, rooms dressed in fifty shades of the earth: brown, beige, gray, khaki, ecru and white. You notice brown cylindrical leather pillows and wooden beds in light tones. White, plush towels are folded roundly on each bed, with water lilies resting upon them. Almost black, wooden ladders leaning against the walls stand still on white pebbles around the floor. Fuchsia flower wreaths are hanged on the walls, evoking carefree feelings. What particularly characterizes the cabins and creates a mystical atmosphere are the monastic bronze utensils, hanging like tin cans. They effortlessly persuade you that there is a process which will reverently lead you to a state of body cleansing and serenity. And at that moment, just when you realize that your holidays' cheerfulness does not fit room for improvement, you come across the couple's massage cabin that promises moments of pure delight with your loved ones.

The temperature literally... goes up! The Rasul room, decorated in Ottoman, Turkish style adds authenticity. Rasul treatment uses mineral-rich mud components, along with heat and steam. It addresses all five senses, using light and sound effects, providing a holistic tranquil experience. Suddenly, a smell of wood and steam is vivid. Bio sauna (thermal bathing) is a mild form of sauna, which pleasantly eases your body and soul. Bio sauna forms a way of detoxification, purification and redemption. The peaceful atmosphere of the area spreads a veil of mystery, creating a serene mood, a truly intense emotional arousal. Just like the intense aura of Patmos, overwhelming every visitor.

Hair & NaIl Salon From top to bottom

Calmness is a one way street as you walk towards the nail salon. Time literally stops in this room, since the first thing you face as you enter the area, is a clock permanently stopped, always showing the exact same time, confirming what every visitor wishes: when at the Anasa Wellness & Spa, time stops for a while. If you feel you need a dose of tendering care you are at the right place. Apart from the attractive, huge, leather pedicure chair with the marble basin bath at the bottom, you will find a manicure section, with several baskets full of colorful nail polishes. Moving into the opposite side of the room, there is a white bathing armchair and a marble, round basin, where experts will pamper your hair. In the opposite direction you will find a wooden counter with a large mirror, suitable for professional makeup or even artistic makeup services. Cylindrical and elaborately folded, the all white plushy towels are found in nearly every room or cabin at the spa, adding an artistic touch to the tranquil ambiance.

This room, by itself, forms an attractive beauty salon. Do not forget to contact the spa reception in order to book an appointment. Hair salon and professional makeup services are exclusively offered upon request, therefore appointments are strongly advised.

Gym A healthy mind in a healthy body

Moving to the central area of the spa, heading towards the cabins, the wooden circular candles on the floor form the only illumination in this questionable path. This diacritical semi darkness provides the necessary coziness in this glassy cell from which you don't want to escape. Into the first room of this glass labyrinth, you find a fitness room, with cardio machines (bikes, elliptical and treadmill) and some fitness machines for specific muscle groups (back, legs). In absolute symmetry, different weight dumbbells are positioned on the right side of the room, on a bench suitable for specialized training, right next to the glass door of the room. You may notice figures of people working out undisturbed as you pass outside the fitness room, since visibility is limited, blocked by horizontal circumferential bands on the glass.

Separate changing rooms and showers are available, both for men and women, in order to prepare before or after training. Individual lockers are also available, you may ask for keys at the spa reception. Towels, personal bathrobes, slippers and disposable underwear are provided, while personal training services can be offered only by appointment. The indoor pool may be used at any time, within spa working hours.
